MCS是Microgeneration Certification Scheme的縮寫，為英國微型發電產品驗證計畫。此為英國在推動之特殊計畫，由英國微型發電產品驗證計畫委員會來管理補貼發放。MCS是有政府背景的獨立機構，為微型發電產品進行標準驗證。擁有MCS驗證之太陽光電產品使用者還可以將餘下的電力賣給國家電網，英國以此方式來完成2020年可再生能源承諾。英國作為低碳經濟發展的積極推動者之一，其40%的國家電力構成來自低碳領域，包括了風能、波浪能等可再生能源。MCS驗證是基於國家驗證機構NCB(National Certification Body)頒發IEC/EN 61215獲得授權的測試報告，再進行工廠生產控制體系審核來完成的。
MCS產品驗證目前主要包含以下產品：太陽能光電產品（光電元件）、地源熱泵、氣源熱泵、排風熱泵、泳池熱泵、太陽能光熱產品（太陽能集熱器、太陽能泳池供熱器）、風力發電機、生物量、微型CHP、水輪機品等。

(2) 獲得MCS驗證的產品必須符合相關的標準並提供合格的測試報告(4年有效期內)。產品的測試報告必須出具有UKAS（United Kingdom Accreditation Service）認可的實驗室才能直接申請MCS驗證，如果是非UKAS認可的實驗室出具的測試報告，則需進行其他程式的檢驗。
(3) 獲得MCS驗證產品的工廠必須符合通用生產控制要求，即工廠審查。另有產品技術檔案，包括產品資料、說明書等文件檔的審核。結合熱傳遞媒介物質的熱水器和具有抗凍功能的熱水器需有額外的要求
