DVGW（德國燃氣與水工業協會）自1859年成立起就致力於水氣專業的技術跟經濟發展，而且一直特別重視安全、衛生和環境保護。DVGW是公益性協會，它在政治、經濟上保持獨立和中立。協會同時行使一些國家職能，立法者僅僅制定總體性的保護和安全目標，DVGW的專家則進行具體的工作。換句話說：水氣專業技術規則有行業自行規定，所以DVGW制定的技術規則為德國供給業的管理的安全性和可靠性打下堅實基礎。
DVGW驗證分為三部分：產品材料的衛生學微生物學測試，產品安全和性能測試，需達到相關的DVGW標準要求；材料為非金屬或功能部件需有KTW,W270證書驗證，金屬材質需達到相關要求； 第三方機構進行對工廠的審驗，控制工廠的生產。DVGW認證引用的標准或規範包括：DIN standard,EN standard,DVGW Work Sheet,DVGW test specification.

例如：安裝在飲用水供水系統Drinking water supply system中的管Pipes,、閥門valves、水龍頭 faucets、噴頭 nozzles等熱水water heater產品和煤氣類管閥裝置gas pipe fittings、管道 pipes、接頭fittings等產品
(1) 提交要驗證產品的詳細資料。尤其是請提供下面的檔案資料：
A、 技術圖
B、 有詳細產品描述的手冊或網站連接
(2) 申請驗證產品的使用範圍和用途
(3) 不同標稱尺寸數量和不同額定輸出功率的產品數量，和裝配數量和類型.
(4) 根據所提供的資訊，安排測試實驗室
(5) 填寫申請表並提交到DVGW(簽字蓋章)和測試實驗室並報價
(6) 收到申請表後，DVGW發出含有參考號的訂單確認給你，所安排的測試實驗室也將收到訂單確認影本。
(7) 在收到DVGW驗證主體的訂單確認後，匯款，送樣。
(8) 通知測試實驗室進行測試 。
(9) 測試合格並審核通過後，DVGW服務中心將在10個工作日內發佈證書。同時為保持證書的有效性，驗證主體委任審查員進行對照測試或與品質保證體系一樣檢查。
(10) 驗證有效期：5年
