基本資料

GS的含義是德語"Geprufte Sicherheit"(安全性已驗證)，也有"Germany Safety" （德國安全）的意思。GS驗證以德國產品安全法（SGS）為依據，按照歐盟統一標準EN或德國工業標準DIN進行檢測的一種自願性驗證，是歐洲市場公認的德國安全驗證標誌。雖然不是法律強制要求，但是它確實能在產品發生故障而造成意外事故時，使製造商受到嚴格的德國（歐洲）產品安全法的約束。

驗證申請流程

首次會議：通過首次會議，檢測機構將或代理機構向申請者的產品工程師解釋驗證的具體程式以及有關標準，並提供將遞交要求的文件表格。
申請：由申請者提交符合要求的文件，對於電器產品，需要提交產品的總裝圖，電氣原理圖，材料清單，產品用途或使用安裝說明書，系列型號之間的差異說明等文件。
技術會議：在檢測機構檢查過申請者的文件資料後，將會安排與申請者的技術人員進行技術會議。
樣品測試：測試將依照所適用的標準進行，可以在製造商的實驗室或檢驗機構的任何一個駐在各國的實驗室進行。
工廠檢查：GS驗證要求對生產的場所進行與安全相關的程式檢查。
簽發GS證書。

驗證單位

德國驗證機構：通常在國內知名的德國本土的GS發證機構有TUV RHEINLAND，TUV PRODUCT SERVICES，VDE等，是德國直接認可的GS發證機構。
其他驗證機構：通常歐洲其他與德國合作的GS發證機構有KEMA，ITS，NEMKO、DEMKO等。

取得效益

GS標誌是強有力的市場工具，能增強顧客的信心及購買欲望。雖然GS是德國標準，但歐洲絕大多數國家都認同。而且滿足GS驗證的同時，產品也會滿足歐共體的CE標誌的要求。和CE不一樣，GS標誌並無法律強制要求，但由於安全意識已深入普通消費者，一個有GS標誌的電器在市場可能會較一般產品有更大的競爭力。
