基本資料

美國汽車工程師學會（SAE），是美國及世界汽車工業（包括航空和海洋）有重要影響的學術團體，也是世界上汽車、海洋和航空/航天運輸機械技術信息的資源之一。每年都推出大量的標準資料、技術報告、參數（工具）書籍和特別出版物，建有龐大的數據庫。該學會每月要向大約14 000多個技術人員、商界人士、政府官員傳遞世界上最新的科技動態。

該協會的標準化工作，除汽車製造業外，還包括飛機、航空系統、航空器、農用拖拉機、運土機械、築路機械以及其它製造工業用的內燃機等。SAE所製定的標準不僅在美國國內被廣泛採用，而且成為國際上許多國家工業部門和政府機構在編制標準時作為依據，為國際上許多機動車輛技術團體廣泛採用，美國及其它許多國家在製定其汽車技術法規時，也在許多技術內容或環節上常常引用SAE標準，成為國際上最著名的標準體系。同時，在美國國家標準學會（ANSI）的支持和領導下，SAE協會代表美國汽車工業界積極參加國際標準化組織（ISO）道路車輛技術委員會（TC22）的工作。

可以說，SAE 在汽車領域擁有世界上最龐大、最完善的標準體系，目前總數已達到1743項
