Energy Rating是由電氣設備能源效率委員會（National Appliance and Equipment Energy Efficiency Committee, NAEEEC）統籌推動的標示計畫，委員會由澳洲聯邦政府、各邦政府、自制區政府官員以及紐西蘭政府代表組成，委員會負責能源效率指標的訂定。
Energy Rating標示為有星星的分級標示，將產品分為六個等級，為資訊之揭露，得到約多顆星星代表節省了越多能源，有貼標示不代表比較節能，是提供消費者選購的一個參考依據

在澳大利亞，測試報告由國家測試機構協會(NATA)和紐西蘭國際認證新西蘭(IANZ)提供。
可以使用自己的測試實驗室，適當的第三方測試設施或認可的第三方測試實驗室進行測試。由於其提供的獨立質量保證和有效性，可以考慮使用經認可的第三方進行產品測試。
