基本資料

為方便香港市民選擇具能源效益的產品及提升香港市民對節約能源的意識，中國政府現正透過《能源效益（產品標標）條例》（第 598 章）推行強制性能源效益標標計劃（強制性標示計劃）。根據強制性標示計劃，在香港供應的訂明產品都必須貼上能源標示，讓消費者知悉有關產品的能源效益表現。

測試程序一般會與有關的國際測試標準或國家標準（如沒有有關的國際測試標準）配合。在釐定有關產品型號的能源效益級別時，須根據強制性標示計劃的《產品能源標籤實務守則》的要求，包括測試標準、對實驗所的要求、能源效益級別的計算等。

實驗所就有關測試獲「香港認可處」根據「香港實驗所認可計劃」認可
實驗所就有關測試獲其他經濟體系的實驗所審定團體（與香港認可處簽訂互認協議／安排的實驗所審定團體）根據認可計劃認可
實驗所已獲認可的獨立認證團體評估及評核，並獲該認證團體證明有足夠能力進行有關測試
實驗所已獲署長根據自願性能源效益標籤計劃評估及認可，以進行有關測試，並已根據 ISO 9001 或有關質量系統的同等標準獲得認證

無須繳納認證費用（測試費用另計）

取得效益

所有在香港供應的該五類訂明產品必須是已獲編配參考編號的表列型號，並附有能源標籤。根據條例的規定，產品在香港供應前，進口商或本地製造商須向機電工程署提交產品的能源效益表現資料（包括測試報告），以獲編配參考編號。
具能源效益的產品不但消耗較少能源，長遠來說更可幫助市民節省金錢，並且有助保護環境。能源標籤把同一類產品的能源效益分為五級，方便市民選擇具能源效益的產品。產品如獲得第一級能源標籤，代表該產品在市面上能源效益最高，如獲得第五級能源標籤，則代表該產品的能源效益最低。
