香港環保標章計畫是一個獨立及自願參與的計畫，旨在認證較環保的產品。本計畫由環保促進會主辦，獲得多個不同工商業機構、大專院校及環保團體的支持及協助。主要目的是根據認可的環保準則，頒發環保標章予對環境損害較少的產品。取得香港環保標章之產品較同類產品對環境構成影響較少，同時亦鼓勵製造商生產更為環保的產品，從而協助消費者辨別環保產品，推動綠色消費。
香港環保標章的認證準則，是按照國際標準化組織及國際認可的標準而釐訂。透過定期參與國際環保標誌的研究，並監視有關的發展情況，可確保香港環保標章計畫的申請及運作程序緊貼有關的國際發展。由本地工商界、學術界及環保團體的代表組成的香港環保標章計畫諮詢委員會負責監察計畫的運作。
跟大部份的環保標章計畫一樣，香港環保標章計畫是屬於國際標準化組織ISO（International Organization for Standardization）14020 第一類環保標章。有預先設定之產品規格標準。產品須經過第三者評審，證明達到認可的環保標準，方可取得環保標章。包括了生命週期的考慮。此外，產品標準也包括符合香港有關法律的要求。
