RoHS是由歐盟立法制定的一項強制性標準，它的全稱是《關於限制在電子電器設備中使用某些有害成分的指令》(Restriction of Hazardous Substances)。該標準已於2006年7月1日開始正式實施，主要用於規範電子電氣產品的材料及技術標準，使之更加有利於人體健康及環境保護。
該標準的目的在於消除電機電子產品中的鉛、汞、鎘、六價鉻、多溴聯苯、多溴二苯醚以及四種可塑劑共10項物質，並重點規定了鉛的含量不能超過0.1%。

RoHS認證之實驗室
在進入到市場上銷售的產品，除了需要強制性驗證的產品外，產品必須還有重要的驗證，也就是產品的RoHS驗證，是對產品進行綠色測試，檢查產品中含有的物質，含有害物質的產品不能得到RoHS驗證，產品在市場上銷售時就沒能得到客戶的認可，RoHS驗證關係到了產品在各國市場上的發展，是產品的技術標準的體現，也是贏得市場銷售的重要特點。
